Message I was considering them seperately just because it is difficult (for me) to create an appopriate analogy for angular momentem.

It is valid to say that x amount of engine torque is lost by having heavier wheels, therefore to compensate for this you need to produce x amount of extra torque. Originally this was all I considered when I asked the question.

It seems much more difficult to do the same thing for angular momentum as it is velocity dependent and maybe also dependent on the angle you are turning the wheel. Perhaps to create an analogy you would need to say at 10mph the heavier wheels are like 10lbs extra dead weight but at 50mph it is like 50lbs. I am not sure what single number could be used to show the determental effect of heavier wheels on handling, perhaps there isn't just one.

Thanks all for the ideas, I am sufficently motivated to try and create some sort of calculator over the holidays, if it is not crap I will post it up.
